In the last chapter of Ruth, we see the Gospel foreshadowed with wonderous clarity in the response of Boaz to Ruth's need of a Kinsman Redeemer. In love, the Son of God rescued and married His bride by lowering Himself, leaving the Riches and Renown of Glory to take on humanity's miserable estate to the point of Death on a Cross. Therefore God highly exalted Him and His name far above all other names in Heaven and Earth, and His Bride with Him. Will you seek to preserve and promote your name in this life only to lose it for Eternity? Or lose and humble yourself before Jesus today, to be Found and Exalted to Heaven's Glory in Him. There is only one wise response to His offer of Love.
Lose Your Life to Find It
The New Testament writers and Jesus himself made it abundantly clear that the Jewish Bible, in prophecy and 'types and shadows', "spoke of Him.' Pastor Jim's sermon wonderfully shows how the relational dynamics between the lowly widow Ruth and the wealthy kinsman redeemer Boaz, foreshadow the greater Boaz, who was to come.
Your Redeemer's Promise
In Ruth chapter 2, we see the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in the lives two people: Ruth, the impoverished Moabite widow whose gifted Faith in the God of Israel produced in her a remarkable devotion to her mother in law and work ethic. And Boaz, whose Faith not only recognized the virtuous character of Ruth, but which also caused him to provide abundant food and protection for her, all according to the loving, Providential plan of God.
